Matthew's zombies at Mt 27:52 always struck me as unmotivated. Some twidiot claimed it was inserted by an anonymous scribe. But now I can look back and see if it matches the other side of the chiasm. And it does! The slaughter of the innocents at Mt 2:16. Killing of many children vs raising of many dead.

Carrier's chiasmus for Matthew at 29:48 has Mt 12:14 at the middle and he is claiming that the main point of Matthew is that the Pharisees decided to destroy Jesus. There is a copy of it that overcomes the low resolution of this video at "The Gospels as Allegorical Myth, Part 2 of 4: Matthew". In OHJ Carrier gives his source for that chiasmus: Toward a Chiastic Understanding of the Gospel according to Matthew There are other versions of this. chiasmus xchange offers one with the middle Mt 13:1-53, and the middle of that IMO is Mt 13:34 "Jesus told the crowds all these things in parables; without a parable he told them nothing." Notice the obsession with Jesus's family at Mt 12:46-50 and Mt 13:54. It makes a little bit more sense for the point of Matthew to be parables about how Heaven and Hell work than for it to be a decision on the part of the Pharasees. With this interpretation, the central claim seems analogous to children sitting in a treehouse judging who can be a member of their club, when the only point of the club is to exclude non-members. You have to be in our group to be sure to go to Heaven instead of Hell. You can never be sure whether you are a good enough member or not because Jesus deliberately talks in parables that you will only understand if you are His disciple. Nobody alive today is Jesus's disciple, so it is all about creating anxiety in Christians about whether they are good enough.

The Roman Empire commissioned the making of the New Testament to put a Greek mythological spin on a man named Jesus. The concept of Dying and Rising Gods is not original and rooted in paganism. Dionysus the Greek God of wine also turned water into wine at a wedding also rode a donkey in victory also had a mortal mom. Greek mythology predates Christianity by 1,000 years. The Roman Empire had every incentive to create Christianity as we know and try to get control of their Jewish population that they were at odds with. Here’s your new religion with your messiah already in it. Said the Roman’s to Jews. The Jews accept the Old Testament as part of their Bible but not the New Testament that was written by anonymous scribes in Greek commissioned by the Roman Empire.

It's the authenticity of the Bible I do not accept. Christ whether he existed or not represents a moral and ethical framework for faith. Jesus was illiterate and as prophet learned through not texts but the spoken word and travelling to meet others throughout the middle east. As for miracles some are plausible while others I agree where hysteria towards healing the sick. Not dissimilar to witches that practised rudimentary health care to mothers and growing children. I believe Jesus was a radical health worker who by actions committed Heresy and executed by the religious establishment. Endorsing Jesus with supernatural powers was at best wishful thinking from fanatics who embellish attributes to revolutionary persons as prophets but do invite hysteria and deformations throughout their lonely lives. It wouldn't surprise me that the establishments would erase a record of any such radical health worker. The very same hysteria now surrounds enigmatic leaders . Education is in short supply when empires begin to collapse and Draconian measures are enacted to retain control of the populace. Fear and ignorance is no stranger to the unenlightened and history does repeat atrocities through genocides and oppression of knowledge. Anything else is a consequence of this ignorance which can sporn conspiracy theories.

Also she was the "enforcer of divine justice" and her title was "the queen of heaven" similar to how Jezuz is called the king of heaven 2) I would also like to mention how Izlam plagiarized the story of Ascension of Isaiah which is interesting. But instead of Isaiah, muhammd gets the tour of heaven and he also says devils are fighting angels in outerspace by throwing stars at each other.

The closest you can get to "the historical Jesus" is in Josephus' Antiquities 20:200 which refers to a James who was a "brother of Jesus the so-called christ" and he could have been a completely different person from the Jesus of Christianity or any of the historical Jesuses of New Testament scholarship. On the other hand, the reference to "Jesus the so-called christ" could have been interpolated and that James was really the brother of Jesus ben Damneus instead. We don't know.

Jesus was first the Cosmos, or universe. Jesus was the cosmic being. It was lonely for Eons. Then he turned in on himself to view what was inside himself. That is when he began speaking with Nebula and galaxies, then taking a closer look, started speaking with planets and stars. Then a closer look at life forms on planets, and a closer look to atomic life and sub-atomic life. Then exploring all the galaxies and planets and stars speaking with every level of life. Taking on many forms of life. Travelling across the cosmos planet to planet taking on new forms and creating new shapes and figures. Until 2024 years ago landing on Earth by spaceship and walking the Earth for the next 2024 years. After descending from the cosmos, the largest form of life, to the second lowest form of life, just above sub-atomic life, human. Jesus still walks the Earth, just goes by a different name. Jesus existed as a celestial being for a time, but there were few celestial beings in existence. It was lonely even as a celestial being. Jesus didn't start the ministry, David did, the buddhist monks, the Jewish and the muslims did. Jesus just spoke, and taught, and learned, and painted and performed music, and built buildings and furniture and trinkets and gadgets and stuffed animals and wrote and travelled and made food recipes, and drew. All of the bible was writen by David and by James, hense the King David Bible and the King James Bible. The Bibles were spoken by a few people, mostly John, also known as Jesus, given many different names in the bible, such as Genesis, Exodus, Michael, Luke, Jonathan, Matthew. Most of the names in the bible were names given to Jesus. There were a couple of other people, such as Moses, David, and James. Most of the books Jesus wrote himself, were medical textbooks, poetry, story books, botany books, books on newly identified animals with names, discription and pictures, Psychology books and instruction manuels. Jesus was Yahweh, Yeshua, Buddha, Leonardo Divinci, Ludwig von Beethoven, Niccolò Paganini, John the Baptist, wolfgang Amadues Mozart, The Count of Germain, Franz Liszt, Vincent van Gogh, Frédéric Chopin, Johannes Brahms, Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann, Felix Mendelssohn, Claude Debussy, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Richard Wagner, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Carl Orff, Antonio Vivaldi, Edgar Allan Poe, George Frideric Handel, Maurice Ravel, Joseph Haydn, Hector Berlioz, Antonín Leopold Dvořák, Edvard Grieg, Gustav Mahler, Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns, Gabriel Urbain Fauré, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi, Sandro Botticelli, Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, Artemisia Gentileschi, Orazio Lomi Gentileschi, Agostino Tassi, Claude Lorrain, John Constable RA, Caspar David Friedrich, Nicolas Poussin, Jacques-Louis David, Ferdinand Victor Eugène Delacroix, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, Jean-Louis André Théodore Géricault, Edgar Degas, Édouard Manet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, Marquess of Dalí of Púbol gcYC, Georges Braque, Franz Gerhard von Kügelgen, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jon Esquire Jones. The Verdict of History by Gary R. Habermas This is a simple read that Jesus was a real historical figure and his existence on Earth was real. 110 facts from sources outside of the Bible. As far as Jesus being a mere hallucination that’s also inaccurate due to the fact that hallucinations are singular to one’s mind and doesn’t spread. If you’re hallucinating you can’t transfer that hallucination onto someone else. How is it possible then that multiple people have the same hallucination? Many saw the risen Christ after his death. Many wrote about it. Also there’s historical record that the followers of Jesus were put to death. No one would die for a cause that they know isn’t real. You can say well they believed in a lie but many were first hand responders to Jesus. Not from second or third generations where they grew up and were indoctrinated. And Apostle Paul did indeed having a meeting with those closest to Jesus on two separate occasions one of them being in Jerusalem.

For all of you wondering about Carrier's claim about Philo of Alexandria referencing a pre-existing Judaic entity named Jesus, you will not find any quote from Philo using the name Jesus. However there is a possible allusion to him. Here is the explanation: In Philo's work 'On The Confusion of Tongues' he quotes a text that says "Behold, A man who's name is ‘Rises’." Philo is clearly referencing Zechariah 6:12. The name ‘Rises’ is written in Hebrew as ‘Semah’, meaning ‘growth’ or ‘shoot’ on the risen part of the tree, although usually translated into English as ‘Branch.’ Philo was using a Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures called the Septuagint, which translated ‘Semah’ as ‘Anatole’ (Aνατολὴ), which was very commonly used by Greek-speakers to mean ‘rise,’ ‘sunrise’ or ‘the East.’ The surrounding verses in Zechariah 6 are about Joshua ben Jehozadak, whose name is transliterated from the Hebrew 'Yeshua" into the Septuagint as 'Iesous' (the Greek name for Jesus as written in the New Testament); and of this Jesus guy the verses say "...make a crown, and set it on the head of Jesus, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And say to him: 'Behold, a man whose name is Rises: for he shall branch out from this place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord. It is he who shall build the temple of the Lord and shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on his throne. And there shall be a priest on his throne, and the council of peace shall be between them...'" This Jesus guy sounds quite messianic. He will rebuild the house of God, be the king and priest of the jews in the messianic age, and oversee peace. Philo gives further commentary on this figure: "A very novel appellation indeed, if you consider it as spoken of a man who is compounded of body and soul; but if you look upon it as applied to that incorporeal being who in no respect differs from the divine image, you will then agree that the name of ‘Rises’ has been given to him with great felicity. For the Father of the universe has caused him to spring up as the eldest son, whom, in another passage, he calls the firstborn; and he who is thus born, imitating the ways of his father, has formed such and such species, looking to his archetypal patterns." In the same book, Philo says even if no one is “worthy to be called a Son of God,” we should still “labor earnestly to be adorned according to his firstborn Logos, the eldest of his angels, the ruling archangel of many names;” and notably Jesus is also called the firstborn Logos, and Christians were also called upon to try and emulate him and adorn themselves like him. Elsewhere Philo adds “there are two Temples of God, and one is this cosmos, wherein the High Priest is the Firstborn Son, the Divine Logos.” Compare these remarks with Colossians 1:12-20, Hebrews 1:1-14 and Hebrews 4:14, and the connections are obvious. Likewise with Zechariah 6:11-13, which not only says Jesus will “build the temple of the Lord,” but “he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne, and he shall be a priest upon his throne.” So in summary, Philo, the philosopher who is notable for combing the Greek Logos (the premise of "The Word" in the Gospel of John) with the Jewish Theological tradition, hears about this messianic king/high priest Jesus in Zechariah 6:12, finds the idea novel and felicitous, associates him with the Father of the universe whom he imitates, calls him the firstborn son and eldest angel, describes him an incorporeal being who is born, says that we should strive to be like this firstborn Logos who is the son of God, and then publishes these thoughts in his works some time around 10-40 CE, shortly before or during the period when the Christian oral tradition began.

Now, apparently the ancient Greeks held their King to this same “standard” as well... for they had built a very surprisingly sophisticated "computer" with multiple gears(one containing 223 teeth) to purposefully predict these same eclipse events. Well now... it would seem that the “Big Mystery” surrounding the “untimely” death of Alexander the Great’s could take on a whole new significance. For would not a "REAL" King take on “His” Responsibilities “HIMSELF”? Alexander was no “pussy”! He wasn’t afraid to “DIE!”... Any “REAL” King would not have someone else “stand in” to do "His" DIRTY WORK!!! And then there is this bit of “confusion”... about “Why was Alexander in such a RUSH to conquer the whole world?” ...hmm. Anyway, I wish those researchers would have mentioned whether or not there was any ecliptic phenomenon going on at the time of Alexander’s death. Noteworthy as it relates unto this information, is the fact that there was also an eclipse(the "hour of darkness") at Christ's crucifixion... not to mention that “the Sins of the World were placed upon him" as well. And in the book of Revelation it is revealed that "Babylon and Egypt" are one and the same... and that the "moon will turn to red”(just as it does during a solar eclipse)... also from the Bible is this, as relating unto Jesus..."Out of Egypt I have called My Son”... hmm. Another interesting tidbit involving Jesus would be “The Passion Play” as it is performed today in Italy as a “Christian” rite. I wonder how widely it is known that this “exact" Ritual WAS BEING PERFORMED "BEFORE JESUS CAME!" and that it’s "True Intention" WAS to (secretly)"Honor The Death Of Julius Caesar", who had been both betrayed and murdered. Even one of his "assassins" was known as "Longinus"! So, this "Rite" is/was FOR a person bearing the initials "J. C.", although, a different one than "Jesus Christ"!("initially")

Although the Jesus character has been made important I wonder if this is necessary. When an important question is ignored such as the lack of contemporary evidence things become mythosistic . My word .cheers Mike

The only thing that makes sense to me about Jesus is that fewer crucifictions are happening today. If you want to argue that Jesus might not have existed in history then perhaps you can help stop the curicifictions that continue ... in your own special way.

Why Mohammad didn’t exist…but he would never dare say that Mohammad didn’t exist, right? Typical Marxist bs. They claim to all be ‘atheists’ but they never criticise any religion besides Christianity. I wonder why?

What people dont understand is that when it comes to faith, people don't mind being lied. There may even be christians who know that Jesus is a myth but still prefer to believe in whatever there is in that faith that appeals to them. Why? Because it offers them comfort. So why Jesus and not a blue elefant? Because it is deeply rooted in society, it is a mythos slowly cooked and served in schools, media, etc... The question is would current society be better without it? In my opinion, yes but only if people would turn to other spiritual resources. But we all need guidance im sure.
